EMA® Oral Appliance Overview
The EMA® (Elastic Mandibular Advancement) device is a custom-fit oral appliance designed to help reduce or eliminate nighttime snoring and mild to moderate obstructive sleep apnea (OSA). It works by gently moving the lower jaw forward using adjustable elastic straps, which helps open the airway for improved breathing during sleep.

Key Information
This device is intended to help manage snoring and OSA. If breathing problems or other
related symptoms persist—whether or not you’re wearing the appliance—please consult
your healthcare provider.

Some users may experience initial discomfort in the jaw joint (TMJ), surrounding muscles,
or teeth. Persistent pain should be reported to your dental or medical provider.
The presence of any oral appliance may limit the ability to breathe through the mouth.

Possible Side Effects
While uncommon, some side effects may occur. If you notice any of the following issues,
contact your provider for guidance:

• Minor gum or tooth soreness from pressure
• Extra saliva when you first begin wearing the appliance
• Jaw stiffness or soreness, especially during initial use or after adjustments
• Temporary changes in your bite alignment
• Involuntary removal of the device during sleep
• Shifting of teeth
• Pain or dysfunction in the jaw joint and muscles - Long-term bite changes (in rare cases)

Daily Use Instructions
1.Inspect the appliance before each use for any signs of damage, such as cracks or wear.
2.Insert by using your fingers to gently snap the upper and lower trays over your teeth.
3.Relax your jaw once the device is in place.
Remove by slightly opening your mouth to release the elastic straps, then gently lift the
trays off.
