Removable Technician

The Dental Laboratory Technician I is a member of the dental laboratory team who, upon prescription from a dental clinician, constructs custom made restorative and dental appliances. The Dental Laboratory Technician will be responsible for the fabrication, alteration or repair of dental devices such as dentures, crown, bridges, inlays or appliances.

 

Primary Responsibilities and Essential Functions of the Position:

  • Read the prescription and all additional paperwork to establish the doctor’s preferences. If there are any questions or discrepancies, see the manager.
  • Evaluate model work and articulations
  • Select denture teeth from tooth stock per doctor’s specifications
  • Mark model for outline of restoration
  • Create base plates
  • Create esthetic control bases
  • Create bite rims
  • Set denture teeth on fully edentulous cases
  • Set denture teeth on partially edentulous cases
  • Keep work area clean
  • All other duties as assigned

Skills and Abilities Required:

  • Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English
  • Excellent eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity
  • Detail oriented

 Minimum Education and Experience Required:

  • Required: High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Experience required

Hazardous Materials or Equipment Used:

  • Small machinery
  • Hand-pieces
  • Chemicals

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time
