Wax Technician
Primary Responsibilities and Essential Functions of the Position:
- Read prescriptions and specifications received from dentist.
- Fabrication of custom trays
- Fabrication of Bite Rims
- Final waxing of setups
- Seal downs of try ins before processing
- Waxing Bite Splints
- All other duties as assigned.
Skills and Abilities Required:
- Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English
- Check accuracy of articulation
- Make certain wax ups are free of debris and tooth shavings.
Minimum Education and Experience Required:
- Required: High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Must have 12 months of experience as a Dental Laboratory Technician and is skilled in one or more of the tasks associated with a Dental Laboratory Technician.
Hazardous Materials or Equipment Used:
- Bunson Burner
- Alcohol Torch
- Sharp Tools
- Hot Wax
- Electronic Hand Piece
- Bench Lathe
Physical Requirements:
- Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, and/or reach.
- Exhibit fine motor skills and/or perform repetitive motions.
- Read and interpret prescriptions and other required documentation.
- Ability to effectively communicate technical information.
- Vision capabilities: depth perception, attention to detail, and/or color.
